Hi, I'm Brock. I'm a Sydney-based architectural designer and
songwriter, with a particular interest in the way sciences can influence and support creativity.
I hold a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS),
and intend to pursue a Master of Architecture soon.
During my degree, I loved to get
involved around the university, working as
a peer tutor, student representative, Chess
Club President, and Student Consultant
for the Accessibility Services Unit at UTS.
My eight-year background as a songwriter / producer has profoundly shaped
my design perspective,
enabling a fluid knowledge transfer into
architecture, particularly through acoustics
and design compositional thinking.
My interest in science started mostly in cognitive sciences, and started to influence my architectural ideas
in my second year, though is most evident in my studio 5 proposal.
I was simultaneously interested in material design and biology,
but didn't really explore this until my final studio proposal where I worked with mycelium.
Moving forward, I'd like to spend more time exploring the intersection of architecture and biology, chemistry, and physics.
Similarly, a means of bridging my architectural, scientific, and musical interests is important to me. So far this has manifested through audio-visual
creative coding projects like this, but am continuing to work on a lot of exciting ideas I wish to share soon.
Outside of my professional and academic interests, I like to play chess, go bouldering, and read. Please feel free to get in touch with me through any of the portals below.
